Arcy’s 1st Incredible Hulk Birthday Party

Children’s parties are fun and enjoyable to set-up! Incredible Hulk theme is an awesome theme for a little boy’s birthday party.

My sister wanted to throw a party for his little one Arcy. The theme was actually Incredible Hulk. I was assigned or rather volunteered to help set up the backdrop and the candy buffet for Arcy’s 1st birthday. At first, I was prejudice of the theme but as we made plans it turned out to be an enjoyable theme to have. We searched all of our inspirations online and fused different ideas to be able to come up with our own set up.

hulk cake

As a huge fan of DIY stuffs, most of the things were done by us (me, my sister and brothers). We had a board made and polished it with a varnish to look like a nice dark wood. We framed Arcy’s photos from his first month to 12 months showing his milestone.

In our candy buffet, we had mallow pops, lollipops, candies, chocolates, cupcakes and cake. My brother and his wife made the Incredible Hulk inspired cake and cupcakes. Instead of cake pops, I made some mallow pops because it’s a bit quick and easy to make.

For our banner, we downloaded and printed a free Incredible Hulk birthday banner. Isn’t it nice to find loads of free printables online? They just save me a lot of time from creating a birthday banner from scratch.

The Incredible Hulk toy collection of the celebrant’s dad made the set up awesome. The toys were huge carved stone that look like Incredible Hulk.

The party of my nephew was last June 27, 2016 and was held in Esca’s Garden Restaurant in our local area. The place is great particularly for parties and function plus the foods they serve are delicious yet reasonably priced. Among the food on the buffet table, I have to say that the Chicken Ala King was great!

A magician was hired to facilitate the program and the games. Children and adults enjoyed the magic show, the games and the nice useful prizes.

The party was a success and the mom and dad of Arcy were happy. Guests went home with full stomach, loads of prizes and smile in their faces.

I’m glad I had the time today to blog my nephew’s birthday party. Hopefully, I’ll be blogging more kid’s parties soon.

My Valentine Wish

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Here’s a poem that I’d like to share. I wrote this poem way back February 13, 1997 in our classroom when I was 17 years old. I dedicated this poem for my crush during my high school days who became my partner in life and better half.  It’s been 17 years that this poem was made and all I can say is that true love knows no age and distance is not a hindrance. For me, every day is Valentine’s day. XoXo!

Construction Theme Candy Buffet

Having three nephews means several kids’ birthday parties to celebrate every year.  Just last November 21, 2015, we celebrated the 3rd birthday of my nephew Victor Euan.  The birthday boy likes construction vehicles and power tools so we decided to have a construction theme birthday party for him.

HBD TOR

We had a construction theme candy buffet for little Tor.  Several toy construction trucks, power tool toys, hard hats, tool box, sign boards and hollow blocks were used in the candy buffet set up which were just available at home.

TOR CAKE

The cake and cupcakes were custom-made by my brother for his son (the birthday boy). Oh, what a cool construction inspired cake! I really like it a lot! And as for the candy buffet, we filled it with cupcakes, lollipops, donuts, jelly ace, pretzels, chocolates and assorted candies.  We’re happy that our visitors enjoyed the sweets on the candy buffet table as well as the food on the dining table.  Though, we only had a few parlor games for the kids yet they had fun and were happy to receive prices and giveaways.

To my nephew Victor Euan, I wish you more birthdays to come. May you grow up to be a good boy and may our God bless you with good health and happy life.

Well, this is the last candy buffet set up that I will do for 2015; looking forward for more birthdays to celebrate and candy buffets to set up this 2016.

Liam’s 1st Minion Themed Birthday Party

I love kids and I enjoy being surrounded by them, especially my only daughter and nephews. It’s always my joy to help assist in the celebration of my nephew’s birthday from party planning, making party invitations, table skirting to setting up candy buffet and even facilitating parlor games. Well, this is maybe because I wanted to be an event stylist and a kid’s party organizer someday. =)

Last October 30, 2015, we celebrated my nephew’s 1st birthday with a minion theme.  His name is Liam. He’s such a sweet and cheerful baby boy and we love him a lot.

The minion theme cake and cupcakes was made by my younger brother and her wife. It was a nice and fun cake and cupcakes.

We invited our neighbors, relatives and some friends.  The celebration was simple yet enjoyable – loads of foods, candy buffet and a few parlor games for the kids.

Again, I had a candy buffet set up for the kids and kids at heart which includes cupcakes, lollipops, molded chocolates, chocolate fountain, marshmallows, cookies and some candies.

Of course, the Pinoy party is not complete without the Lechon or roast pig.

And as for me, I badly need to practice my hosting skills because I think I suck at it. Ha ha ha!

Baby Liam enjoyed his first birthday from the looks of his sweet face.  The party ended and I think everyone had a despicable fun.

Doing all the chores for the party was no doubt tiring but it was all worth it for my cute little nephew.

May you have more birthdays to come little Liam! May the Lord our God shower you with good health, a happy life and I hope you’ll grow up to be a person with good character.  Love lots!

Cuddly Bear Theme Candy Buffet

Last October 17, 2015, we welcomed my nephew Arcy to the Christian world in St. Anne Parish Church. The baptism was followed by a dinner party at home for family, relatives, friends and for Arcy’s godparents.

Since I’m a fan of candy buffet or dessert bar, I have set up a cuddly bear theme candy buffet for my little cuddly and adorable nephew.candy buffetThe night before the celebration I did the table skirting which I really need practice on. I also made some cake pops which took me hours to finish yet very enjoyable to make.candy buffetFor the candy buffet, we had some strawberry filled donuts, cake pops, cupcakes, tootsie roll candies, marshmallows, white chocolate lollipops, blue berry flavored chocolate lollipops, bear-shaped and heart-shaped dark chocolates plus a chocolate fountain.PhotoGrid_1445027711532We also prepared and cooked foods for the guests.  I know how tiring it is to do everything ourselves but I think my mom, sister and brothers including yours truly make a great team when it comes to food preparation and throwing a simple house party. If there are things that we love they can include cooking, eating and sharing our blessings to others through food.

Everyone went home with something sweet to take home. The celebration was simple yet meaningful.

Anika’s Frozen Inspired Birthday

frozen theme birthday

Last 21st of August 2015 Friday we celebrated my little Anika’s 6th birthday.  I organized a Frozen-inspired birthday party for her as she’s a fan of Elsa the Disney Snow Princess.  Though it was raining cats and dogs because of the stormy weather we had many visitors.  The party was a bit informal yet fun.  We had our games indoor since it was raining outside and we can’t use the garden.

Frozen themed cake Frozen goodies

The highlight of the party was the candy buffet that I planned set up with the help of my mom, brothers and sister.   My younger brother made the frozen themed cake and cupcakes. I made some cake pops which I need more practice in.  Everything was DIY hence it was tedious but worth it.

I’m happy that my daughter is happy with the birthday party I threw for her.  I, most of all, thank God for giving her another year of life.

For my little Anika, I wish you good health, more birthdays to come and that you’ll grow God-fearing, full of hope, faith, strength, kindness and love.  You’re my bundle of joy and I love you mucho! XOXO =)

Liam’s Christening

Welcome to the Christian world my nephew Liam! You’re smile and laughs always take my stress away. I hope you’ll grow up respectful and a God-fearing individual.  Your aunt loves you so much! I’m always praying for you.

I’m just sad as I wasn’t able to make it to the church to witness the ceremony and take some photos in the church but what’s important is that you’ve received the Sacrament of baptism.

Your nautical themed Christening and thanksgiving dinner party was wonderful. I think I ate a lot because the food was awesome! Ha ha ha!

God bless you always! Lots of love from your Aunt Angela! (“,)

Dear Diary

personal diary

Life ain’t easy but I’m striving to be happy and trying hard to make the most out of it.  2012, 2013 and 2014 have been the hardest, saddest and most depressing days of my life.  I’ve been lost and have lost a lot.  Oh well, that’s life! I was burned out and I feel so uninspired and demotivated. I don’t know if I can get back on track again.

But what’s clear to me is that I want to be a chef a someday and travel more. I believe it’s not too late to fulfill my dreams – feeling hopeful and a bit excited to go back to school someday.

I got a lot of time for myself now but I miss my old life, my past jobs, my writing and SEO tasks and my good clients in the internet marketing field. I felt sorry that I left them for some personal reasons and I somehow regretted it. Yeah, I know there’s no point in crying over spilled milk, but somehow I can’t help it. There are lots of ‘ifs’; if only I was emotionally strong and physically fit perhaps, I would have not given up my work so easily. Oh well, I can’t bring back the past and life must go on.

At this time, I just want to be like a leaf on the wind and give myself some time because sometimes all we truly need is some time off.

Be Thankful

Thankful 2

Be thankful for each day
Many have not made it through the day

Be thankful for your life
You’ll make it through toil and strife

Be thankful for your family
Some already don’t have any

Be thankful for what you have
There are loads who are wishing hard to get what you’ve got

Be thankful for your heartaches and some bad experience
Someday you’ll find yourself stronger, braver and wiser in your existence
