Macau

If you’re traveling to Hong Kong for a vacation and got some extra time and money on the side, it’s a wonderful idea to put Macau in your travel itinerary. After all, it’s easy to head to Macau when you’re already in Hong Kong as all it takes is a short ferry ride.

Macau
Macau is a special administrative region of the People’s Republic of China. This former Portuguese colony offers many things to see, visit and indulge such as churches, fortresses, shrines, shopping areas, dining establishments and many more. So, basically, it offers a mix of experience – the one from the Chinese and from the Portuguese. It’s like Vegas in Asia with a touch of the Portuguese and Chinese influence.

Touring Macau through a free bus ride. The bus from the port area heads directly to some Casinos. This saved us a lot of money.
Macau Tour
After arriving in Macau Port from Hong Kong, we rode a bus that took us to City of Dreams, an entertainment hub in the area. Luckily, the ride was free as entertainment establishments in Macau provide shuttle buses that will take you to their place free of charge.

From the City of Dreams, we went to Venetian which is also a casino resort. The places can be visited on foot.

We also went to the Ruins of St. Paul. It was scenic and a such tourist-magnet. Loads of people were around.

We spent the entire day in Macau. We went to several casinos but not to gamble instead we ate at their nice restaurants. The foods were delicious and affordable.

It was a great experience having visited Macau even for a short time. It’s such a lovely and fun place to be.

Sadly, we weren’t able to see Macau by night as we went back to Hong Kong, catching the last ferry back to the vibrant city.

I’m very much hoping that I’d be able to visit this place again….
