Anika’s Pink and Purple Butterfly Theme Birthday Party

It’s been 7 years since I have received the very best gift in my life, my daughter Anika, who celebrated her 7th birthday last 7th of August 2016. Time flies really fast and it’s been really a pleasure to see my daughter grow into a lovely and smart kid. She taught me how to love unconditionally and make me experience how it feels to be a parent.

Yes, the journey to parenthood is not always smooth-sailing but definitely worth it! In a world filled with uncertainties, it is my daughter who gives me direction, inspiration and the reason to live. Often, I would look at her baby photos and I can’t help but look back in the past and reminisce the moments when she was still a baby. Sometimes, I can’t help but regret being a workaholic back in the days and usually left her in the hands of her nanny and my mother. Now, I want to spend more time with her and always be with her.

Every year, I always like to celebrate my daughter’s special day by throwing a simple party; this is my way to give thanks for the gift of life and for all the blessings we’ve received.

This year, I chose the pretty in pink and purple fairy princess party theme. We decorated the place with pink and purple butterflies, balloons and banners. Thank you to my brothers and my mom’s helpers who helped me in decorating the venue – The Monte Rosa Clubhouse.

I had the prizes placed in white baskets wrapped with pink gift wrapper and pink and purple tulle. Most of the prizes were school supplies like watercolors, pens, glue, headbands, coloring books, pen holders, pencil case, sharpener with eraser, correction tape and stickers.

Instead of piñata, I had seven big balloons placed at the ceiling; they were filled with candies to be popped at the end of the party.

I bought some white mugs and decorated them with ribbons, butterflies and balloons to serve as our centerpiece.

To avoid wearing too many hats at the party which I usually do, I hired a reliable catering service provider to take care of the food. The foods were mostly delicious Filipino main dishes including Crab Omelet, Hototay Soup, Fresh Lumpia, Potato Salad, Fried Chicken, Pork Hamonado, Beef Frita, Roasted Pork, Pork Barbeque, Steamed Fish Fillet, Sweet And Sour Fish Fillet, Spaghetti with White and Red Sauce and Buko Pandan Salad.

Our candy buffet (open for take home) consisted of birthday cake, cupcakes, cake pops, molded butterfly chocolates, marshmallows and blueberry cheesecakes.

As usual, I had fun setting up the candy buffet especially making cake pops and practicing making molded chocolates and yeah I need more practice. Ha ha ha!

Kids enjoyed the parlor games and swimming that came after the party. It rained but the children still enjoyed night swimming in the pools.

Adults, mostly, enjoyed the food. LOL!

I’m happy that my daughter enjoyed her party!

Oh, before I forget, thanks a bunch to my brother and sister-in-law who made the butterfly theme cake and cupcakes.

Anika’s party also served as a reunion of relatives and old friends and ended with loads of fun and smile.

To my little Anika, I wish you the best of health and happiness. I pray that you’ll grow into a good-hearted and god-fearing individual, full of love, kindness and hope. My love for you will be always and forever. I love you more than life!

Construction Theme Candy Buffet

Having three nephews means several kids’ birthday parties to celebrate every year.  Just last November 21, 2015, we celebrated the 3rd birthday of my nephew Victor Euan.  The birthday boy likes construction vehicles and power tools so we decided to have a construction theme birthday party for him.

We had a construction theme candy buffet for little Tor.  Several toy construction trucks, power tool toys, hard hats, tool box, sign boards and hollow blocks were used in the candy buffet set up which were just available at home.

The cake and cupcakes were custom-made by my brother for his son (the birthday boy). Oh, what a cool construction inspired cake! I really like it a lot! And as for the candy buffet, we filled it with cupcakes, lollipops, donuts, jelly ace, pretzels, chocolates and assorted candies.  We’re happy that our visitors enjoyed the sweets on the candy buffet table as well as the food on the dining table.  Though, we only had a few parlor games for the kids yet they had fun and were happy to receive prices and giveaways.

To my nephew Victor Euan, I wish you more birthdays to come. May you grow up to be a good boy and may our God bless you with good health and happy life.

Well, this is the last candy buffet set up that I will do for 2015; looking forward for more birthdays to celebrate and candy buffets to set up this 2016.

Liam’s 1st Minion Themed Birthday Party

I love kids and I enjoy being surrounded by them, especially my only daughter and nephews. It’s always my joy to help assist in the celebration of my nephew’s birthday from party planning, making party invitations, table skirting to setting up candy buffet and even facilitating parlor games. Well, this is maybe because I wanted to be an event stylist and a kid’s party organizer someday. =)

Last October 30, 2015, we celebrated my nephew’s 1st birthday with a minion theme.  His name is Liam. He’s such a sweet and cheerful baby boy and we love him a lot.

The minion theme cake and cupcakes was made by my younger brother and her wife. It was a nice and fun cake and cupcakes.

We invited our neighbors, relatives and some friends.  The celebration was simple yet enjoyable – loads of foods, candy buffet and a few parlor games for the kids.

Again, I had a candy buffet set up for the kids and kids at heart which includes cupcakes, lollipops, molded chocolates, chocolate fountain, marshmallows, cookies and some candies.

Of course, the Pinoy party is not complete without the Lechon or roast pig.

And as for me, I badly need to practice my hosting skills because I think I suck at it. Ha ha ha!

Baby Liam enjoyed his first birthday from the looks of his sweet face.  The party ended and I think everyone had a despicable fun.

Doing all the chores for the party was no doubt tiring but it was all worth it for my cute little nephew.

May you have more birthdays to come little Liam! May the Lord our God shower you with good health, a happy life and I hope you’ll grow up to be a person with good character.  Love lots!

Cuddly Bear Theme Candy Buffet

Last October 17, 2015, we welcomed my nephew Arcy to the Christian world in St. Anne Parish Church. The baptism was followed by a dinner party at home for family, relatives, friends and for Arcy’s godparents.

Since I’m a fan of candy buffet or dessert bar, I have set up a cuddly bear theme candy buffet for my little cuddly and adorable nephew.candy buffetThe night before the celebration I did the table skirting which I really need practice on. I also made some cake pops which took me hours to finish yet very enjoyable to make.candy buffetFor the candy buffet, we had some strawberry filled donuts, cake pops, cupcakes, tootsie roll candies, marshmallows, white chocolate lollipops, blue berry flavored chocolate lollipops, bear-shaped and heart-shaped dark chocolates plus a chocolate fountain.PhotoGrid_1445027711532We also prepared and cooked foods for the guests.  I know how tiring it is to do everything ourselves but I think my mom, sister and brothers including yours truly make a great team when it comes to food preparation and throwing a simple house party. If there are things that we love they can include cooking, eating and sharing our blessings to others through food.

Everyone went home with something sweet to take home. The celebration was simple yet meaningful.

Anika’s Frozen Inspired Birthday

frozen theme birthday

Last 21st of August 2015 Friday we celebrated my little Anika’s 6th birthday.  I organized a Frozen-inspired birthday party for her as she’s a fan of Elsa the Disney Snow Princess.  Though it was raining cats and dogs because of the stormy weather we had many visitors.  The party was a bit informal yet fun.  We had our games indoor since it was raining outside and we can’t use the garden.

The highlight of the party was the candy buffet that I planned set up with the help of my mom, brothers and sister.   My younger brother made the frozen themed cake and cupcakes. I made some cake pops which I need more practice in.  Everything was DIY hence it was tedious but worth it.

I’m happy that my daughter is happy with the birthday party I threw for her.  I, most of all, thank God for giving her another year of life.

For my little Anika, I wish you good health, more birthdays to come and that you’ll grow God-fearing, full of hope, faith, strength, kindness and love.  You’re my bundle of joy and I love you mucho! XOXO =)

Liam’s Christening

Welcome to the Christian world my nephew Liam! You’re smile and laughs always take my stress away. I hope you’ll grow up respectful and a God-fearing individual.  Your aunt loves you so much! I’m always praying for you.

I’m just sad as I wasn’t able to make it to the church to witness the ceremony and take some photos in the church but what’s important is that you’ve received the Sacrament of baptism.

Your nautical themed Christening and thanksgiving dinner party was wonderful. I think I ate a lot because the food was awesome! Ha ha ha!

God bless you always! Lots of love from your Aunt Angela! (“,)

Circus And Carnival Themed Party

Celebrating birthdays, even in a simple way, is something that I and my family like to do.  We give importance to birthdays not only to celebrate a very special day but to give thanks for another year of life.

Last 21st of November, my nephew celebrated his second birthday with the circus and carnival party theme. I really like this theme because it’s colorful and fun not to mention that I love carnivals and circus; it reminds me of my fun and care-free childhood days.

fotor pic 052The night before my nephew’s birthday, I already finished setting up the candy buffet table.  I loaded the candy buffet table with cupcakes, cookies, chocolates, cake pops, wafers, bubble gum, lollipops, marshmallows and candies during the day of the celebration. We also had two chocolate fountains flowing and popcorn maker popping up corn kernels.

carnival circus partySimple snacks and main dishes were prepared for our guests since the afternoon party is sure to finish late in the evening. I also facilitated the simple games for kids such as statue dance, trip to Jerusalem, the boat is sinking, cupcake eating contest, pabitin and piñata. We started to play the games past six o’clock and the kids had a great time. They were also happy to receive some prizes and giveaways.

The party was simple, warm, relaxed and fun-filled.  I enjoyed it as much as the birthday boy and his guests did.
